The story

I'm shaving my head for the next month and selling every square centimetre of it as ad space.

Your logo, printed as a temporary tattoo, worn on my scalp everywhere I go — the gym, the office, two conferences, and my cousin's wedding (sorry, Dana).

Why? Because attention is the only currency left, and my barber owes me a favour.

Photos posted weekly. Goal: $2,000 CAD. Highest bid per spot wins when the clock runs out.

How the auction works

Is money charged when I bid?

No. Bidding places a hold (an authorization) for the deposit on your card — typically 20% of your bid. Nothing is charged unless you win AND the host approves your placement. If you're outbid, the hold is released automatically within seconds.

What happens if I win?

The host reviews your placement. On approval your deposit is captured and the host invoices you directly for the balance (your winning bid minus the deposit). On rejection the hold is released in full.

Can any logo go up?

No — every winning placement needs explicit host approval, and hosts set a refusal list (adult, gambling, and similar categories are declined by default).

Why do late bids extend the clock?

Any bid in the final minutes extends that spot's deadline by the same window (a soft close), so auctions end when bidders are done, not when snipers strike.

What happens if two people bid the same amount?

The earlier bid wins. A new bid has to beat the leader outright — matching it is never enough — so whoever got to a given amount first keeps the spot.

How long does my logo stay on the surface?

As long as the host promised in the listing — it is shown on the campaign page and on every browse card, and it starts when the logo goes on, not when the auction ends.

Why can't I see who else bid?

Bidding is sealed apart from the leader: you see the current top bid, its logo, and how many people are in the running. Losing bids and their timings stay private.
